Rep. Bourne Serves as Principal for a Day at North Elementary

State Representative Avery Bourne recently served as principal for a day at North Elementary School in Taylorville. She interacted with students on their latest projects and discussed with teachers the biggest challenges they face in doing their jobs.

The ‘Principal for a Day’ program is organized by the Illinois Principals association to provide the opportunity for state and federal legislators to get to know the inner workings of schools and build relationships with principals and administrators. Legislators visit schools in their legislative district, interact with staff and students, and perform selected administrative tasks during their visit.
